NAUI Dive Master
If you like challenges, if you’d like to change careers and do something exciting, become a NAUI Dive Divemaster. The Divemaster course is the first professional rating leading up to Scuba Diving Instructor. As a Divemaster you will be able to work at dive centers, resorts, on live-aboards, on charter boats, and as a freelance tour guide in various parts of the world. Once you become a Divemaster, the opportunities to live abroad in exotic places, meet new people, take in new sites, and do what you like to do most, that is scuba, is endless.

The Fun Part
Getting to dive at new locations, from boats; meeting new people, taking them on dive tours, introducing them to best time of their lives, watching their faces light up with excitement, and leaving them with fun filled memories is both rewarding and fulfilling.
What You’ll Learn
The Divemaster course teaches you to lead and take charge of dive activities. Through practical development sessions, water-skill-exercises and hands-on-training you’ll develop the skills to organize and direct a variety of scuba diving activities. Topics and training include
• the role and characteristics of a Divemaster;
• supervising dive activities and assisting with student divers;
• diver safety and risk management;
• divemaster conducted programs: Skin Diving, Try Scuba Diving, and Scuba Review;
• the business of scuba diving and your job as a Divemaster;
• environmental awareness as it pertains to familiar dive sites;
• dive site setup, organization, and excursion management;
• familiarity and mapping an open water dive site;
• conducting dive briefings before a dive; and
• organizing a search and recovery project and a deep dive.
Who can take this course?
NAUI Master Scuba Divers, Divemasters and Assistant Scuba Instructors from other agencies like BSAC, CMAS, PADI, SDI, SSI, etc. who meet the following prerequisites:
• minimum age is 18 years old;
• 60 logged dives;
• NAUI Master Scuba Diver certification;
• Nitrox certification;
• Emergency Oxygen Provider certification;
• First Aid for Diving Professionals (DFA Pro) certification; and
• pass the NAUI Instructor Pre-qualification Exam.
Enrollment with 40 Dives Option (a)
For student divers who already meet all of the prerequisites for the Divemaster course, possess a full set of scuba gear, have logged at least 40 dives upon starting this course and will have logged 60 dives upon completion of the course.

This option is for students who already meet all of the prerequisites for this course, have some or most of their own gear, and have logged 40 dives upon registration. Program includes books, certifications, full rental gear, training, 10 boat charters (20 dives worth), and Divemaster Certification.

Zero to Hero Program
The Zero to Hero program is for students who are not yet certified but are seeking a straight path to leadership. This program includes certification as an Open Water Scuba Diver, Nitrox Diver, Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver, Emergency Oxygen Provider, First Aid/CPR Provider, Master Scuba Diver, and Divemaster. This program includes books, certifications, full rental equipment, training, and 30 boat charters (60 dives worth).

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Cross-overs for other agencies are welcome to become NAUI Divemasters as long as they are still in good standing with their home agency and meet the above prerequisites. The NAUI Divemaster Cross-over is $ 500.00

Your Next Adventure
Once you become a NAUI Divemaster, you will be able to conduct NAUI recognition programs (such as International Diver), award recognition materials to participants, conduct Refresher Scuba training for certified divers, teach the NAUI Try Scuba (confined water only) program, teach NAUI Skin Diver courses, and assist an active-status NAUI Instructor in diving courses. Learn how you can become eligible to teach the NAUI First Aid – Powered by DAN provider courses, Underwater Archaeology, Underwater Digital Imaging, Underwater Hunter and Collector, and Underwater Naturalist courses. Active-status NAUI Divemaster MUST be approved, in advance, individually, by the NAUI Training Department to teach these courses.
