Waikiki Shore Dives

Ala Moana Beach Park’s Magic Island

SCHEDULE: 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM

The Magic Island penninsula is a scuba diving training ground teaming with aquatic life, experienced divers as well as first timers anxious to go diving in Waikiki.  Magic Island may not be the best shore diving experience Oahu has to offer, but it is by far the most convenient since it is close to the Ala Moana Shopping Center and the hotels in Waikiki.  Local fish include triggerfish, Aha Needlefish, Barracuda, Blue Striped Snappers, Sea Turles, and occasionally Hawaiian Monk Seals.

Kakaako Waterfront Park’s Point Panic

Point panic is near the Kewalo Harbor.  This is a shallow reef dive.  The park includes a stairway into the water for easy access.  Divers who dive point panic usually kick out and head toward the famous Kewalo Pipeline that runs westward out into the ocean for about half a mile.  The pipeline serves as an artificial reef and attracks every kind of Hawaiian aquatic life, notably the Hawaiian Seaturle, Reef Sharks, Triggerfish, Squirrelfish, Blufin Jacks, Saddle Wrasses, and more.

SCHEDULE: 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM
